Hello, Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish community, my name is Adrian Arreola, a seminarian for the Diocese of Fresno. I would like to share a little background of who you will be seeing in the office and during masses. I was born in Morelia Michoacán, Mexico and moved to California when I was about 9 years old. I was blessed in a family of two older brothers, myself, a younger brother and my younger highschool sister.
After graduating Delano High (Gooo Tigers!), I began to work in various things; farm labor, construction, cabinet shop, and volunteered at my home parish office. Through work and being involved in different ministries at the parish, the discernment towards my vocation to priesthood started. During a moment in adoration I felt the Lord calling me to serve Him. Through my emotions of nervousness and unworthiness the Lord has chosen me. I knew this was my vocation.
This brought me to the Spring of 2014, when Bishop Emeritus Armando Ochoa accepted me, as a seminarian, for the Diocese of Fresno. My formation was located in Los Angeles at the Queen of Angels house of formation. After attending El Camino College and Dominguez Hills University, and becoming the first of my family to graduate from a university, I transferred to St. John Seminary in Camarillo completing my 7th year of formation. This school year, I have been assigned to this beautiful parish for my internship. This is a year of hands-on learning and continued discernment to the priesthood. God willing I become ordained in two years. I’m very excited for my time here to get to know each and everyone of you and be of service to the OLPH community. Let us stay united in prayer. God Bless you all!
